At Rising Stars Crownpoint Road our vision is to continue providing a happy, friendly, healthy, safe and secure environment for children of different backgrounds and abilities.
We are situated within The Glasgow Club Crownpoint in the East End of Glasgow a short walk from Glasgow City Centre. The Rising Stars Crownpoint Road Childcare Centre is a purposely built nursery which is well maintained including our Outdoor play area and Private Car Park. We have access to the Glasgow clubs running track and football pitches which the Children and staff thoroughly enjoy using.
We value and respect all of our children and their families in recognising that they have the right to have their voices heard and acted upon.
• Provide a high quality of education respecting Children as individuals who have rights, whilst adhering to Pre Birth to 3 curriculum; positive outcomes for Scotland’s children and families, Curriculum for Excellence and Building the Ambition.
• We will continue to review and evaluate our curriculum using both a child focussed and child driven approach to develop and stimulate each child to become successful learners.
• Create a positive ethos.
• Make learning fun.
• Children’s differences will be valued and reflected in resources that are provided.
• We continue to monitor our service through our policy review, in-service days and questionnaires.
• Our Open Door Policy ensures Parent/Carers have access to visiting our establishment at any time of the day.
• Parent/carers and staff all complete various questionnaires allowing us to pay attention to areas we are doing well in and also areas for development.
• Through our parent/carer meetings we encourage parent/carers to voice new ideas and participate in workshops on the learning we provide for their children.
Our 3-5 children participate in football coaching provided by Glasgow Sport by FA qualified staff which is at an additional cost to our families.
We encourage our children and families to participate in our home link bags which include nature, numeracy and literacy. This allows home to nursery opportunities.
Rising Stars Crownpoint Road caters for children from 6 weeks until 5 years old. There are three separate rooms, The Shining Stars, The Moonbeams and The Rainbow Room, which cater for particular age groups and areas of development.
The Shining Stars (0-2 room)
The baby room can hold 15 babies with a staff ratio of one to three. Staff have created a warm, homely welcoming atmosphere where children feel happy and relaxed. The room has a separate changing area and sleeping area. Children’s routines will be adhered to however most children adapt to nursery routines. The children have the opportunity to explore and develop through a variety of sensory play and activities, with staff working from the Pre Birth to Three and building the ambition document.
The Moonbeams (2-3 room)
Our middle room holds up to 15 children with a staff ratio of one to five. Staff work from the Pre Birth to Three Document and building the ambition, and from this provide a high standard of care and learning experiences for children to holistically develop and grow.
The Rainbow Room (3-5 room)
Our 3-5 room can hold up to 20 children at any one time with a staff ratio of one to eight. The staff work from the Curriculum for Excellence Document, which allows children to take part in a large variety of structured activities, which include group time, expressive/arts, physical play, mathematical and literacy experiences and so on. Staff prepare children for school in their pre school year by promoting independence and focusing on the key features of the Curriculum for Excellence.
We have an LEL (Leaders of Early Learning) who is part of the Glasgow counts challenge to help improve the attainment gap. All rooms operate a key worker system, which will ensure your child is offered suitable learning experiences and the highest quality of care. Parent/carers are fed back to on a daily basis.

We have a link with the local care home Arcadia Gardens where we visit on a weekly basis to allow the children of the nursery and residents of the care home to come together to participate in different experiences including art, outdoor games, stories, song time and baking. This is a very worthwhile opportunity for the local community to bring the old and young together.
The children have the opportunity to visit the local Bridgeton library and Glasgow Green.
